Breaking News on Home and Internet Gun Selling and Collecting, with and without your FFL! Get your LICENSE today...
We all know the Democrats are flying high and Bush is a lame duck. In fact, ATF and States already are responding to Congress instead of the White House on new gun ban initiatives. Just so far, VPC has gone after ammo in 12 states, California has enacted two new “no ship across State lines” laws, and ATF has instituted three brand new draconian web/home/kiosk hours FFL policies.
New Internal ATF Policy on Hours and Facilities
Many of our employees are retired or part time ATF. There is a new internal policy (not to be published publicly) that hearkens back to the Clinton anti-web, anti-home rules. These rules tried to shut down home dealers and collectors via State tax licenses and hours of operation. Most home FFLs and private sellers have already figured the tax angle out. However, any seller (including stores!) with “variable hours of operation” (meaning no hours for the public, hours by appointment, or weekend only hours) MUST include gunsmithing. If a seller does not have a gunsmith credential, they will be denied, shut down during their next audit, or refused renewal if they are not open during regular retail hours.
Since we have hundreds of successful new home and web based FFL approvals each week, and did not want to make this new ruling a hindrance to dealers or collectors, we’ve launched a joint venture with Phoenix State University to offer ACCREDITED GUNSMITH CERTIFICATES for dealers and collectors.
There are no hidden charges, one brief exam, and you can be certified in as little as three weeks. Visit BecomeaGunsmith.com for all the details. In addition, there is no charge ever for transcripts (a $100 charge EACH at other colleges), and you can send as many as you want to wholesalers, State, County, City and other licensors, insurers, customers, trade sellers, etc. In fact, this credential also is a great ALTERNATIVE to the FFL or CCR for many sellers and collectors. Finally, the home warehouse rule (running your home as an unlicensed warehouse with a small kiosk elsewhere, all guns and shipping from home) is still legal with gunsmithing, as the kiosk then does not require retail hours. This will also protect you at GUN SHOWS if you are a collection or CCR seller rather than an FFL.
You have made a wise choice in your timing, as other schools charge over $900 for this credential, and no one can be certain when the new bans will begin to affect collectors, as they already have sellers. Getting certified NOW will grandfather you for ANY new bans in the coming year.
